10+ years designing secure architectures, building detection & response strategies, and helping organizations understand their threat landscape. I also teach, build tools, and break things on purpose.
Designed and built capture-the-flag challenges on AWS for security training and skill assessment. Used for internal training programs and community events.
Built a personal AI assistant with infrastructure monitoring, smart home control, and security automation. Controls firewalls, analyzes logs, and manages IoT devices.
Developed hands-on security training programs and mentoring initiatives. From university courses to corporate workshops — making cybersecurity accessible.
Designed secure cloud architectures with Infrastructure as Code, site-to-site VPNs, and enterprise firewall solutions for multi-site deployments.
Writing about cybersecurity trends, tools, detection strategies, and lessons learned from a decade in the field.
Started tinkering with networks when I was a teenager in Monterrey — the kind of kid who'd rather configure a router than play outside. That curiosity turned into a career. I studied Information Technology Security, got my degree, and dove headfirst into the world of firewalls, threat detection, and secure architecture design.
Over the past decade I've worked across pre-sales engineering, building security architectures for enterprises, designing detection & response strategies, and honestly just figuring out how to make organizations harder to break into. I've had the privilege of working with some of the best security technology in the industry.
But the thing I care about most? Teaching. Whether it's building CTF challenges, running workshops, or mentoring someone just starting out — I believe security knowledge should be shared, not gatekept. The industry has enough gatekeepers.
When I'm not working, I'm probably automating something at home, building an AI assistant that controls my lights, or writing about whatever caught my attention that week.
